Galatians Overview

Aug 26, 2025    David Klingler

Paul writes to the Galatians to confront false teachers who claimed that faith in Christ was not enough and that the law, especially circumcision, was required for salvation. He defends his apostleship and declares that justification comes only by faith in Jesus, not by works of the law. The law served as a guardian until Christ, but now believers are sons of God and heirs of the promise through faith. Paul urges them to stand firm in the freedom Christ gives, not returning to slavery under the law, and to live by the Spirit, producing His fruit. He closes by calling them to boast only in the cross of Christ.
