How Is The Bible Organized?
Have you ever thought...why do we even need the Old Testament? I mean, Jesus didn’t show up until Matthew, so what’s the point of those old writings? Well, it turns out that the entire Old Testament was anticipating the arrival of Jesus! The OT reveals God’s plan to send the Messiah, Jesus, to the earth. God chose the nation of Israel— and a specific genetic line—through whom Jesus would be born. The Old Testament tracks this narrative of how Israel was chosen by God, but failed to do its job, and how this paved the way for the New Covenant. Then the New Testament picks up the narrative with the birth of Jesus, the promised Messiah. And the story continues. In the video, Dr. Klingler helps us understand how the books of the Bible are organized so that we can get a better grasp of the unified story line.
