Chapter 5
Jan 14, 2026 • Alex Wolfe, David Klingler
Deuteronomy 5 presents the Ten Commandments as God’s design for His people to bear His name and reflect His character. The command not to take the Lord’s name in vain warns against misrepresenting God. The Sabbath points to God’s promised rest, and the commands about loving God and neighbor reveal His holiness and care. This chapter shows that the law exposes the need for a new heart and points to God’s work of transforming His people so they may live faithfully before Him.
