Chapters 6:45-56, 7, & 8:1-33
Jan 13, 2026 • Phil Porter, David Klingler
In the Gospel of Mark, the disciples witness Jesus feed the crowds, calm the sea, and heal the blind and deaf, yet they struggle to understand who He is. Mark echoes Old Testament warnings that people may see and hear but not truly understand. Through Jesus opening eyes and ears, Mark shows that God is revealing the identity of the Messiah and calling His people to true faith. The confession that Jesus is the Christ marks a turning point, reminding readers that God must open our hearts to see and believe His purposes.
