Chapter 20

Mar 8, 2026    Alex Wolfe, David Klingler

Deuteronomy 20 gives God’s instructions for Israel in times of war. The priests were to remind the people not to fear because the Lord fights for them. Certain men—those who built a house, planted a vineyard, were newly married, or were fearful—were allowed to return home. Israel was also given commands about offering peace to distant cities and destroying the nations in the Promised Land to prevent idolatry. This chapter shows that Israel’s victories depended on trusting the Lord and obeying His commands.
